Chicken Yakitori

Juicy chicken and scallion skewers brushed with a glossy tare glaze of soy, mirin, and sake. Grilling gives them a smoky char that is irresistible.

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp mirin

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Thread the chicken and scallion pieces onto soaked skewers, alternating.
  2. Simmer the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and ginger in a small saucepan for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the skewers for 3 minutes per side until lightly charred.
