Juicy chicken and scallion skewers brushed with a glossy tare glaze of soy, mirin, and sake. Grilling gives them a smoky char that is irresistible.
Ingredients
- 8 oz chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 4 scallion stalks, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Thread the chicken and scallion pieces onto soaked skewers, alternating.
- Simmer the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and ginger in a small saucepan for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the skewers for 3 minutes per side until lightly charred.
